It can also be used for duplicating (copying) an orthotic device for the foot, ankle or lower leg. STS Casting Socks are made from a stretchy, fibreglass knit, which are impregnated with a water curable polyurethane resin. By exposing the material to water, a chemical reaction is initiated which causes the tubular moulding material in the STS Socks to become rigid. Finished moulds or lasts made from the material are strong, lightweight and replicate the limb with great accuracy. The clinician using STS Copy Socks will find their use cleaner and quicker than traditional methods based on Plaster of Paris.
